Voices of Tomorrow: Michelle Pacheco On Waking up to Who You Are
Throughout our lives those who inspire us, shape our spiritual path in profound ways. I met Michelle Pacheco during an especially deep dip in my personal life. She was introduced to me through a mutual friend and mentor, Corinna Springer of Nouveau-PR. Having already been exposed to the work of Drunvalo Melchizedek and interested in taking one of his workshops, our meeting was a perfect example of synchronicity at work. For those of you that are not familiar, Drunvalo is a world traveler with a background in physics, mathematics and ancient indigenous cultures. His mission is to help people understand their intimate connection to the source of creation. He is the first person in modern times to mathematically and geometrically define the human light body referred to during ancient times as the Mer-Ka-Ba. He is a consultant for the global webzine, Spirit of Maat with over 1 million viewers each year. He founded the Flower of Life Facilitators that have been teaching his work in over 60 countries. He authored five books published in 29 languages titles include: The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life, Volumes I & II, Living in the Heart, Serpent of Light and The Mayan Ouroboros. Awakening the Illuminated Heart is his newest teaching through the School of Remembering. Recently the school exceeded 10,000 attending students worldwide.
Throughout her life Michelle followed interests in spiritual and energy work though Reiki, Meditation and attended classes at The School of Images. She first participated in Drunvalo’s workshops in 2010 and became a certified teacher for the School of Remembering. With Drunvalo’s guidance she has taught more than 50 Awakening the Illuminated Heart workshops around the world. Michelle is a master teacher and healer initiated in the practice of Usui and Karuna Reiki, and Breathwork, which is conscious breathing techniques, as taught by Breathwork master Dan Brule. She is currently writing a book for children addressing spiritual development from a child’s perspective. Her goal is to use Living in the Heart to teach people how to heal themselves by gently helping their spirits to awaken to who they truly are.
Q. How did you find out about these techniques (Awakening The Illuminated Heart, Reiki, Breathwork, etc…) give a few personal stories and briefly describe each technique the associated benefits.
A. For as long as I can remember I have been interested in spiritual work, in understanding and remembering what I am truly supposed to do in my life. It’s been a long journey. I began practicing Reiki twelve years ago. I found my Reiki Master in Romania, when my cousin took me for a session. I understood right then that it was what I had been searching for. A few years prior to that I read a book called The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield, a beautiful novel that I recommend to everyone. I understood that meeting Dr. Dragos Argesanu, my Reiki Master, was a moment of synchronicity. It was a gift from the universe. I knew that I had to practice Reiki but I didn’t know the ride it was going to take me on.
It was a few years before I started to practice Reiki on people beside my family and myself. I was pushed to do it, but I didn’t have enough trust. It took me some time to find it. I studied Reiki Usui, Karuna, and Shamballa Reiki with different teachers, including William Rand who founded the International Reiki Center. I am also a member of his association of practitioners.
Reiki healing is a natural therapy that gently balances life energies and brings health and well being to the recipient. One of the greatest benefits of Reiki is stress reduction and relaxation, which triggers the body’s natural healing abilities and improves or maintains health. Reiki can heal many problems that people often suppress with drugs. Dr. Oz talks about Reiki and integrates the practice into his work.
The study of Shamballa Reiki took me to Drunvalo Melchizedek and his Flower of Life books and teachings. Once I found Drunvalo, I understood how completely connected everything is. Life everywhere is one and if we do not remember this we cannot remember who we are. This was a very powerful message that changed my life.
Through Drunvalo’s workshops and training sessions I became a certified teacher of the School of Remembering. This work teaches meditation and how to remember and use the power of our hearts. It teaches openness to the universe, reconnecting with the source and how to awaken to the incredibly powerful spirits that we are.
In this four-day workshop called Awakening The Illuminated Heart we teach students how to experience the Sacred Space of the Heart and the Tiny Space of the Heart and activate the pineal chakra. Students have a day of deep healing while learning relaxation techniques and the maintenance of an Alpha Wave state. We also teach students how to create a Mer-Ka-Ba that is directly connected to the Sacred Space of the Heart. You can listen to Drunvalo talk about this work by watching this video:

Through these channels I also learned about Breathwork also known as Rebirthing. I studied this technique with Dan Brule a wonderful teacher I met in New York. I suggest you visit his website. I realized that these techniques help us heal and clean the emotional trauma that stops us from living in our heart. I began to understand that I coundn’t meditate deeply if I wasn’t fully centered in my heart. Breathwork techniques, allow us to open our heart. Yes, there are other ways such as traditional Buddhist meditations, and more. Breathwork is just one way to accomplish the same thing. It has very tangible effects after just one session and is a great way to experience the power of your inner energy source. This technique is often called rebirthing because it takes practitioners to a place where they can clear the emotional traumas associated with birth. It is an opportunity to learn to defy fear and free our minds.
Dan Brule will be in New York starting October 25, 2013 for a series of workshops, I hope you can join us. If you are interested please contact me to register, here! Q. Do you believe in miracles tell us a story about an experience you or one of your students have had that was life changing. A. I do believe that “incredible” stories are possible, they are happening all around us. There are no miracles. We call them miracles because our mind doesn’t let us understand our ability to create the beautiful things we want to bring into our lives. We have been born into a program that tells us what is and is not possible, what we should and should not do. Then, when things that we really want to happen to us, things that are outside of what we logically believe, we call them miracles. Because of the incredible work that the universe is allowing me to do now, I finally understand, in my heart, that we can materialize everything we want. All we need is trust and belief that it is possible. I was able to change my life completely in the past two years and I know it was possible because of the creation process in my heart. During a six-month period I managed to leave the corporate environment that I felt stuck in and fully immerse myself in the spiritual path I always wanted to pursue. It was a miracle. Everything started to happen so fast. Opportunities would come to attend workshops or meet mentors completely out of the blue. I didn’t understand how it could be possible. Everything just came together and I was able to start teaching. This is my life now and I feel happier than ever before.
The success stories shared by my students are numerous everything from finding their true love, to people that freed themselves from emotional traumas and found true happiness for the first time. Many learn to heal their depression and physical conditions. I receive a lot of emails and calls from people who say, “You won’t believe what happened to me!” Many people come to me after a few weeks, or months to tell me how their lives changed. However, changes that come quickly can be harsh. What do I mean by this? We ask the universe or God, to give us something. The most common request from people I work with is to find their path in life and the universe gives it to you. However, the path is not always what we expect. Some times we get taken for a roller-coaster ride and at first we may not understand what is happening. We may not like the immediate events. But if we trust that we are creating from the heart and allow the universe to do its work, the ultimate outcome is that we achieve our dream. Sometimes a door must close for another to open. This is what most of us need to understand. And what is most important is to understand the changes start inside our hearts, not in our minds. One of my favorite teachers said “We need to be Buddhas, not Buddhists. We all have this ability at this moment in time”. We all have the ability to go deep down inside our hearts and find the truth of life, the truth about who we are and about creation itself… Then we become awakened and can be enlightened. We can all become Buddhas.
Q. During your travels abroad, you must meet such interesting people. Compare your experiences teaching these techniques internationally with your experience in the US. Do foreigners or Americans embrace these techniques more easily?
A. Interesting question. I often think about this topic. I find that Europeans and South Americans are much more open to these teachings. Even in the United States many of the people that participate in spiritual workshops and alternative healing techniques are of European or Hispanic descent. I find that modern American culture pushes people away from nature, traditions, and ancestral believes, throwing us into a more technological society where everything is tightly anchored in a mental system. We are encouraged to become attached to a program that tells us what is possible or not. Unfortunately, this program is spreading around the world. Many more people are becoming anchored in the material world, in desiring material possessions, while others make different choices. This is a time when monumentally important decisions must be made. Go through the right door, or the left door. Take “the red pill or the blue pill.” I feel that the division between the two is becoming wider and wider. The grey area is disappearing.
I hope more Americans open their eyes and realize the power they have within them. Humans have so many abilities, the most important of which is the ability to self-heal. Once we do this we can do anything. Do you know what happens to people that manage to heal themselves from a condition they have lived with for a long time? They become believers of their own power. They start to believe in miracles because they create them. However, this is hard to do when you are surrounded by media that says you need help outside yourself; that you need to put your life in the hands of organizations like the pharmaceuticals industry.
Q. What is the most important message for those who yearn for peace?
A. I am speaking from my heart, find the truth of who you are, your essence. Then you will have peace. When we find inner peace, we find tranquility in accepting who we are. Once we have done this, there is no fight or struggle. Accepting and understanding our spirit helps us transcend to new levels of consciousness. In the Gospel of Saint Thomas Jesus said, “Heaven is within you and all around you.” When we remember this, and apply it to our daily lives we understand that we are free.
Q. Who inspires you the most?
A. There are many people that inspired me. My grandmother was a simple woman who didn’t have many opportunities but she was incredibly wise. She helped me understand the type of person I wanted to be. Without knowing it she broadened my horizons.
There are many authors that I am inspired by, but the mentor that most impressed me was my first Reiki Master Dr. Dragos Argesanu. He is a well-read author of Reiki books in Romania. We met eight years ago when I went to him for a Reiki session. He gave me strength and encouraged me to focus on my path. He taught me what it means to live in light and truth. He is the reason I do what I do today, because of him I woke up to who I am.
There are many great masters that I worked with after that. Drunvalo Melchizedek whom I love dearly is one of them. If it wasn’t for his unusual wisdom and knowledge I would have never had the opportunities I do today. I would like to end this question with a quote that I love very much. If we could all understand its true meaning, we would live in a better world.
“All spirituality is about reliving suffering.”
– Buddha
Q. What does the future hold, tell us what workshops you are planning in the near future and any other new information that could be useful for those who follow news on world peace, meditation techniques and other tools for personal and spiritual growth.
A.There are many things I am currently preparing! Coming up are workshops, the book I am writing on spiritual development from a child’s point of view, and a few rare spiritual events in various locations around the world. There is so much to do and no time to sleep.
I just returned from Europe where I had workshops in Romania, Macedonia, and Portugal. I am planning some great events in Portugal in early 2014. I will have workshops in Fatima, Portugal, which is a place with an incredible energy. I am also organizing a group trip to the Camino de Santiago or the way of Saint James, a routine of pilgrimage to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain.

Awakening the Illuminated Heart Workshops
Reiki Wellness NYC
Currently I am planning an Awakening the Illuminated Heart workshop presented as a certified teacher through the School of Remembering of Drunvalo Melchizedek, Reiki and Breathwork workshops during the months of October and November. I encourage people to go to my site and read more about these incredible teachings and techniques.
My goal is to expose people to knowledge that is ancient and helps them discover their own forgotten abilities. I suggest that everyone looks for the things that works for them. I am one way people can get more information. I share things, I learned from my past teachers and I learn from the universe.
There are many people in the world now that are turning to spiritual paths. I challenge everyone I meet to find the path that resonates the most. It’s a personal journey and everyone has a unique experience. Listen to your heart and follow the teachings that bring you joy and excitement. This should not be a chore. If you read something or you try something and feel your heart opening, keep exploring that. If not, try something else. Your heart knows what is good for you it has it’s own brain so to speak. Listen to it.
There is a lot of information on the Internet. Do not get lost. It is very easy. There are a lot of groups here in New York and around the country. Be open, try things that come your way, but don’t lose sight of how your spirit and heart feel. Also remember there is no coincidence, only synchronicity. There is always a reason why events, books, people, and situations appear around us. The universe is trying to expose us to a way of seeing things. It is up to us to try it.
Try Tai Chi or Qigong. Do Yoga, or come to my workshops on meditation, Reiki, and Breathwork. Breathing is a powerful tool. It shows us the connection we have with the source. Regardless what technique you choose, remember there are two important things they all require, practice and patience.
I am here and I will continue to host various events and workshops. If people feel like they resonate with me they are welcome to come anytime. You can find all my upcoming events on my blog, and on my website. It is currently undergoing some maintenance but will be up and running soon.
